What made me create the web series?

well it came out of two things, a love of cult horror movies and needing to produce something i could write, shoot and finalise all by myself. I have been trying to make a movie for a year on and off (probably more off then on if i'm completely honest).

I generally like to keep busy and i figured it was time to create something different. To see if i could do it and see what reaction it would receive.

 

The final push came when i watched the amazingly strange Troll 2. It was a film that i wanted to tell everyone about, but since not many people showed interest in my verbal diarrhea, out of context in the "real world".

I thought, why not make a video and send it to some of my friends who are into these types of movies like me. Plus it's a good way of getting these films out of my system in a format i enjoyed using. As it turns out a lot of my mates have now subscribed to my youtube channel, although i'm not quite sure why they weren't before?.

 

It's funny how much work actually goes into making each B Movie episode. I won't try and convince you that it's harder then working a 12 hour shift and then going home to start getting on with your own jobs. The time spent actually shooting the video is the shortest part of the process for me. It's all about the "prep" before hand that makes things flow.

 

Knowing what i'm going to be reviewing in the following episode is key, but i usually let the choice go on as long as possible so all viewers have a chance to vote. Take for instance my Halloween edition, it was a dead tie between the film Frogs and Halloween 3. So i thought what the hell! i'll look at BOTH of them. What i should have done early on was re-watch both movies (Frogs was a first viewing for me) and bring out the flavour. Unfortunately i let my decisions go to the last minute and on the day of the shoot i had not only to write my notes/script but also re-watch Halloween 3 as i had forgot to do before. A typical mad rush day, but i stuck firm and got it all done.

 

When i started i thought it would be all fun and not really hard work at all, since it wasn't like making a short film or what not. Usually this thought comes back to me when i'm sat in front of my edit suite working on the latest episode for the fourth or fifth continuous hour. Although i'd be lying if i said i wasn't enjoying it and the process fulfills that side of me that would otherwise be bored and quite frankly restless.

 

Hopefully your reading this because you have a love for the crazy b movies i'm talking about and you get a thrill out of seeing that others like them too. I'm committed to bringing this series out twice monthly, even more with special editions along the way.
